ROCK CRUSHER RACE WEEKEND OVERVIEW
The Rock Crusher is MVTR’s competitive event, sanctioned by the New England
Trail Rider Association (NETRA) in their championship series. Riders compete in
a season of NETRA events promoted by clubs across the northeast for their
class championship. Generally the Rock Crusher Weekend consists of youth
events on Saturday, Pee Wee Scrambles and a Junior Enduro. Sunday is
generally Hare Scramble day, with three races ranging from the youth Mini Rider,
Amateurs and Women, and AA Amateurs and local Professionals.
The event is organized and managed by the MVTR Competition Committee, with
broad volunteer support from our MVTR club members and our local snowmobile
club, the Weare Winter Wanderers. Volunteers help with course setup and
cleanup, admissions gate, parking, competitor registrations, technical
inspections, and other duties. MVTR members who compete in the NETRA
championship series must comply with the “work rule” volunteer requirements to
qualify for the series.
The Rock Crusher is MVTR’s primary money making event, with the profits
supporting club activities, charitable events, and the maintenance of the
Hopkinton-Everett OHRV Riding Area.
The name “Rock Crusher” is derived from the event being located at a working
rock quarry. Previously the MVTR competitive events were held at Rocky
Mountain in Alton, NH; and known as Rocky Mountain Weekend.
