What can MVTR do for me?

The Merrimack Valley Trail Riders (MVTR) was organized by a group of trail riders in the early 70’s. Although the sport is low keyed in scope, it is one of high profile to the eyes and ears of the general public. With concern of State mandated controls ( driven by public perception ), a desire to unify many “riding buddies groups” into a single social environment, and a wish to foster riding opportunities, MVTR was formed.

Since it’s inception, the MVTR has been active at the State level in introducing legislation allowing the use of legal trail bikes on public ways, promoting and protecting user rights and advancing proper rider behavior relative to land owner / managers and the public. MVTR sponsors training seminars, informal trail rides and organized recreation and competition events. Understanding and advancing the concept of multi-use trails, the Club has attempted to work with other groups, primarily snowmobile and mountain bikes, in an attempt to foster good will, understanding and cooperation.

Monthly meetings are comprised of bikers and ATV riders exchanging ideas on topics ranging from suspension tuning to protective equipment design, OHRV registration cost to trail development. Competition riders share their high speed thrills or spills with recreation riders having the same thrills and spills only at a different pace, all in the name of fun and recreation. Free advice is always available from fellow members, with product discounts at participating dealers.
