ROCK CRUSHER RACE WEEKEND OVERVIEW
The Sanborn Scramble is one of the premier off-road motorcycle racing weekends in New England and is sanctioned by the New England Trail Rider Association (NETRA) as part of its championship series. Riders from across the Northeast compete throughout the season at NETRA-sanctioned events, earning points toward class championships while challenging themselves against some of the region’s best off-road racers.
Race weekend features a full schedule of competition for riders of all ages and skill levels. Saturday is dedicated to youth competition, including Pee Wee Scrambles, Vintage Hare Scramble, and the Junior Sprint Enduro, providing young riders and vintage enthusiasts with exciting opportunities to compete. Sunday features the premier Hare Scramble events, beginning with Super Mini & Mini classes, followed by Novice, and concluding with the highly competitive Amateur, Expert, and Pro races.
Hosted on private property in Deerfield, New Hampshire, the Sanborn Scramble delivers miles of professionally marked woods trails, flowing single-track, technical terrain, hill climbs, mud, and natural obstacles that challenge riders while showcasing some of the best off-road terrain New Hampshire has to offer.
The event is organized and managed by the Merrimack Valley Trail Riders (MVTR) with the support of dozens of dedicated volunteers. Club members assist with every aspect of the weekend, including course design and marking, rider registration, admissions, parking, scoring, technical inspections, safety operations, and post-event cleanup. MVTR members participating in the NETRA Championship Series are encouraged to volunteer as part of the club’s commitment to maintaining high-quality events throughout the season.
The Sanborn Scramble is one of MVTR’s most important fundraising events. Proceeds from the weekend help support the club’s trail development efforts, rider education programs, charitable initiatives, youth riding opportunities, and the continued preservation and maintenance of legal off-road riding opportunities throughout New Hampshire.
